Janet Gronneberg
In 2007, Janet re-entered the full-time workforce. She hadn’t worked full time for more than 15 years. Before kids, she had a ten-year career going in human resources and training at Bain & Company, Inc. While staying home and raising her kids, she ran lots of volunteer organizations, held various part-time positions, and even went back to school to earn a M. Ed. in Organizational Management.
When Janet’s oldest went off to college, she decided to re-launch her career. She was ready to earn a full time paycheck however, it had been quite a few years since she had to interview, write a resume, or put a “value” on her work. She didn’t really know where to start. Compounding matters was the fact that none of her friends had quite the same plan for their lives at the moment. She felt like she was on her own.
Or was she?
Dana Webster
With her oldest going off to college, Dana was right smack in the midst of figuring out exactly what was next for her as well. Before kids, she worked in product marketing and marketing communications at industry-leading software companies such as McCormack & Dodge, Cullinet, Computer Associates, and Marcam. While engaged in being a mom, she worked part-time, did consulting work from home, served on the board of a non-profit organization, and led various volunteer endeavors. Now she wanted a job where she could leverage her business and marketing background without giving up some of the quality-of-life benefits she had come to appreciate while being home.
Was that even possible?
Janet and Dana wondered separately about whether there were other women who were going through the same thing. Hearing them both laboring over these issues, a mutual friend suggested Janet call Dana. The two had never met.
One phone call and the two let intuition settle the matter. Intuitionet was born.
